Abstract

We read with interest the letter from Singh et al proposing a two-stage propensity score PS analysis as an alternative method to include sleepy patients in a trial that explores the relation between CPAP treatment and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases In our commentary 1 we only addressed the topic of randomized controlled trials RCTs with the aim of providing potentially useful suggestions to conduct future trials to overcome the challenges that RCTs involve We deliberately did not focus on observational trials or those using PS analysis
