Am J Trop Med Hyg. 2010 Oct; 83(4): 760-5.0002-9637http://hdl.handle.net/10668/398A new member of the phlebovirus genus, tentatively named Granada virus, was detected in sandflies collected in Spain. By showing the presence of specific neutralizing antibodies in human serum collected in Granada, we show that Granada virus infects humans. The analysis of the complete genome of Granada virus revealed that this agent is likely to be a natural reassortant of the recently described Massilia virus (donor of the long and short segments) with ayet unidentified phlebovirus (donor of the medium segment)enAnimalesSecuencia de BasesAnticuerpos AntiviralesCercopithecus aethiopsGenoma ViralHumanosFemeninoInsectos VectoresFebre por FlebótomosFilogeniaPsychodidaeVirus ReordenadosVirus de Nápoles de la Fiebre de la Mosca de los ArenalesEstudios SeroepidemiológicosCélulas VeroMasculinoSecuencia MolecularMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::AnimalsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Blood Proteins::Serum Globulins::Immunoglobulins::Antibodies::Antibodies, ViralMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Chemical Phenomena::Biochemical Phenomena::Molecular Structure::Base SequenceMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::Animals::Chordata::Vertebrates::Mammals::Primates::Haplorhini::Catarrhini::Cercopithecidae::Cercopithecinae::Cercopithecus::Cercopithecus aethiopsMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Genetic Phenomena::Genetic Structures::Genome::Genome, ViralMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::Animals::Chordata::Vertebrates::Mammals::Primates::Haplorhini::Catarrhini::Hominidae::HumansMedical Subject Headings::Health Care::Environment and Public Health::Public Health::Disease Transmission, Infectious::Disease Vectors::Arthropod Vectors::Insect VectorsMedical Subject Headings::Information Science::Information Science::Information Services::Documentation::Molecular Sequence DataMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Virus Diseases::Arbovirus Infections::Phlebotomus FeverMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Biological Phenomena::Biological Processes::Biological Evolution::PhylogenyMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::Animals::Invertebrates::Arthropods::Insects::Diptera::PsychodidaeMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Viruses::Reassortant VirusesMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Viruses::Vertebrate Viruses::RNA Viruses::Bunyaviridae::Phlebovirus::Sandfly fever Naples virusMedical Subject Headings::Health Care::Environment and Public Health::Public Health::Epidemiologic Methods::Epidemiologic Study Characteristics as Topic::Epidemiologic Studies::Seroepidemiologic StudiesMedical Subject Headings::Anatomy::Cells::Cells, Cultured::Cell Line::Vero CellsGranada Virus: a Natural Phlebovirus Reassortant of the Sandfly Fever Naples Serocomplex with Low Seroprevalence in Humansresearch article20889862open access10.4269/ajtmh.2010.09-06971476-1645PMC2946739
