Int J Mol Sci. 2020 Jan 21;21(3):709http://hdl.handle.net/10668/3704The Cdc14 phosphatase is a key regulator of mitosis in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Cdc14 was initially described as playing an essential role in the control of cell cycle progression by promoting mitotic exit on the basis of its capacity to counteract the activity of the cyclin-dependent kinase Cdc28/Cdk1. A compiling body of evidence, however, has later demonstrated that this phosphatase plays other multiple roles in the regulation of mitosis at different cell cycle stages. Here, we summarize our current knowledge about the pivotal role of Cdc14 in cell cycle control, with a special focus in the most recently uncovered functions of the phosphatase.enAtribución 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Cdc14PhosphataseMitotic exitGenome stabilityNucleolusAutophagyCytokinesisProteína quinasa CDC2Monoéster fosfórico hidrolasasInestabilidad genómicaNucléolo celularAutofagiaCitocinesisPuntos de control del ciclo celularReplicación del ADNMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Cell Physiological Phenomena::Cell Physiological Processes::Cell Death::AutophagyMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Cell Cycle Proteins::Cyclin-Dependent Kinases::CDC2-CDC28 Kinases::CDC2 Protein KinaseMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Cell Cycle Proteins::Cyclin-Dependent Kinases::CDC2-CDC28 Kinases::CDC28 Protein Kinase, S cerevisiaeMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Cell Physiological Phenomena::Cell Physiological Processes::Cell Cycle::Cell Cycle CheckpointsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Cell Cycle ProteinsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Cell Cycle Proteins::Cyclin-Dependent KinasesMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Cell Physiological Phenomena::Cell Physiological Processes::Cell Cycle::Cell Division::CytokinesisMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Chemical Phenomena::Biochemical Phenomena::Biochemical Processes::DNA ReplicationMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Nucleic Acids, Nucleotides, and Nucleosides::Nucleic Acids::DNA::DNA, RibosomalMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Genetic Phenomena::Genetic Processes::Gene Expression Regulation::Gene Expression Regulation, FungalMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Genetic Phenomena::Genomic InstabilityMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Cell Physiological Phenomena::Cell Physiological Processes::Cell Cycle::Cell Division::Cell Nucleus Division::MitosisMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Enzymes and Coenzymes::Enzymes::Hydrolases::Esterases::Phosphoric Monoester Hydrolases::Protein Tyrosine PhosphatasesMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::Fungi::Ascomycota::Saccharomycetales::Saccharomyces::Saccharomyces cerevisiaeMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Fungal Proteins::Saccharomyces cerevisiae ProteinsMedical Subject Headings::Phenomena and Processes::Genetic Phenomena::Genetic Processes::Gene Expression::Transcription, GeneticThe Multiple Roles of the Cdc14 Phosphatase in Cell Cycle Controlreview article31973188Acceso abierto10.3390/ijms210307091422-0067PMC7038166
