Off-label uses of anti-TNF therapy in three frequent disorders: Behçet's disease, sarcoidosis, and noninfectious uveitis. Mediators Inflamm. 2013, 2013:2868570962-9351http://hdl.handle.net/10668/1961Journal Article; Review;Tumoral necrosis factor α plays a central role in both the inflammatory response and that of the immune system. Thus, its blockade with the so-called anti-TNF agents (infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab, certolizumab pegol, and golimumab) has turned into the most important tool in the management of a variety of disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropatties, inflammatory bowel disease, and psoriasis. Nonetheless, theoretically, some other autoimmune disorders may benefit from these agents. Our aim is to review these off-label uses of anti-TNF blockers in three common conditions: Behçet's disease, sarcoidosis, and noninfectious uveitis. Due to the insufficient number of adequate clinical trials and consequently to their lower prevalence compared to other immune disorders, this review is mainly based on case reports and case series.enAnticuerpos monoclonalesAnticuerpos monoclonales humanizadosFragmentos Fab de inmunoglobulinasInmunoglobulina GGlicoles de polietilenoReceptores del factor de necrosis tumoralFactor de necrosis tumoral alfaAntiinflamatoriosUveítisSarcoidosis pulmonarUso fuera de lo indicadoMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Chemical Actions and Uses::Pharmacologic Actions::Therapeutic Uses::Anti-Inflammatory AgentsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Blood Proteins::Immunoproteins::Immunoglobulins::Antibodies::Antibodies, MonoclonalMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Blood Proteins::Immunoproteins::Immunoglobulins::Antibodies::Antibodies, Monoclonal::Antibodies, Monoclonal, HumanizedMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Immune System Diseases::Autoimmune DiseasesMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::Animals::Chordata::Vertebrates::Mammals::Primates::Haplorhini::Catarrhini::Hominidae::HumansMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Globulins::Serum Globulins::Immunoglobulins::Immunoglobulin Fragments::Immunoglobulin Fab FragmentsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Blood Proteins::Immunoproteins::Immunoglobulins::Antibodies::Immunoglobulin Isotypes::Immunoglobulin GMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Pathological Conditions, Signs and Symptoms::Pathologic Processes::InflammationMedical Subject Headings::Analytical, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Techniques and Equipment::Therapeutics::Drug Therapy::Drug Prescriptions::Off-Label UseMedical Subject Headings::Technology, Industry, Agriculture::Technology, Industry, and Agriculture::Manufactured Materials::Biomedical and Dental Materials::Polymers::Polyethylene GlycolsMedical Subject Headings::Chemicals and Drugs::Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins::Proteins::Membrane Proteins::Receptors, Cell Surface::Receptors, Immunologic::Receptors, Cytokine::Receptors, Tumor Necrosis FactorMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Respiratory Tract Diseases::Lung Diseases::Lung Diseases, Interstitial::Sarcoidosis, PulmonaryTreatment OutcomeMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Hemic and Lymphatic Diseases::Lymphatic Diseases::Lymphoproliferative Disorders::SarcoidosisMedical Subject Headings::Diseases::Eye Diseases::Uveal Diseases::UveitisMedical Subject Headings::Organisms::Eukaryota::AnimalsOff-label uses of anti-TNF therapy in three frequent disorders: Behçet's disease, sarcoidosis, and noninfectious uveitis.review article23983404open access10.1155/2013/2868571466-1861PMC3747407
