La relación que en este sentido se plantea entre los recursos de asistencia del nivel de Primaria y el sistema de helitransporte sanitario (HEMS), viene provocada por la necesidad de acortar esos tiempos de respuesta y derivación en zonas en las que la asistencia inicial es llevada a cabo por los DCCU, a pesar de tratarse de patología tiempo-dependiente que requiere de un traslado rápido y que no puede ser ofertado por los mismos existiendo la posibilidad de optimización.
