Even though the production of allergenic extracts is standardized, the real content of major components is not completely known, given the total content of allergenic proteins and the enzymatic activity of phospholipase A2 (Api m 1) and hyaluronidase (Api m 2). To date, 12 allergens have been described as components of Apis mellifera venom (AMV).
