AB AimsTo examine factors related to excess mortality in a cohort of adults with congenital heart disease (CHD).Methods and resultsWe conducted a survival analysis using prospective data of 3311 adults with CHD [ 50.5% males, median age at entry 22.5 years (IQR 18-39), median follow-up time 10.5 years (IQR: 4.4-18)]. Survival status of each patient was further verified by cross checking with the Spanish National Death Index. During a total follow-up of 37608 person-years, 336 (10%) patients died.
