dc.description.abstractThe aim of this conference was to provide JA-CHRODIS partners and relevant EU level, national and local policy makers, and practitioners, the opportunity to discuss the state of health promotion and primary prevention in Europe, how to move forward the recommendations resulting from the European Union’s Reflection Process on Chronic Diseases in this area, and to share examples of good practices. One of this examples are the intervention described in this poster, which is recognized as Good Practice by the Spanish Ministry of Health. This intervention promotes physical activity among population, specifically, walking groups in Andalusia (Spain). *Short description of the intervention:* WHO: Any institution, group or association of individuals can participate. They may register at the official platform, where all the needed information is explained, and accept the terms and conditions stated in the “Registration of Participation”. WHAT: Accept the challenge “would you be able to achieve a million steps in a month with the steps contributed by all the individual participants? WHERE: The group walks can take place anywhere. It doesn’t matter whether they are in urban areas or in the countryside. WHEN: Any time. They are self-programmed by each group. HOW: Accumulating, in a series of group-walks in a month, the number of steps aimed, by the contribution of all the participants (steps are registered using a pedometer).es
