Abstract

Our patient was a 71-year-old man, a former smoker with a cumulative smoking index of 80 pack-years, diagnosed with T4N2M1 squamous cell carcinoma of the lung 2 years ago and undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy. He presented to the emergency room with a 48-hour history of asthenia, and hypotension was noted. Computed tomography revealed tension pneumopericardium (Fig. 1A), while bronchoscopy identified a fistula orifice approximately 5 mm in diameter in the distal third of the left main bronchus, which was constricted by the tumor (Fig. 1B).
