Abstract
Objetive: Analysis of survival, function and quality of life of patients with a mobile - bearing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA). Material and Methods: We have reviewed 177 patients treated with UKA between the period of November 2006 and September 2012 to December 2019, with a mean follow - up of 89,4 months, with diagnosis of anteromedial osteoarthrosis (OAM) and avascular necrosis of the medial compartment (NAV). Two surgeons different from the main surgeon with the SF-12 (V1) quality of life questionnaire and the Oxford Knee Score (OKS) reviewed all the patients. We statistically analyzed survival and whether it was modified by age, BMI or sex using univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: 20 knees were rescued. The survival rate of the implanted prostheses in the 177 patients was 95.6% at 77 months and 88.6% at 104 months of follow-up. The survival rate obtained was not influenced by the variables studied as was gender, age and BMI at surgery. Conclusion: The survival rate obtained supports the UKA as a good surgical weapon and should be considered in anteromedial osteoarthrosis.Sex, age, and body mass index did not alter survival.
