Abstract

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia. It leads to significant morbidity and mortality. The new oral anticoagulants (NOAC) represent an improvement compared with standard treatment (vitamin K antagonists (AVK)) in the prevention of thromboembolic complications in patients with non-valvular AF.
